SEASON-ing

about SEASONing

When we developed SEASONing we wanted to communicate how to best utilize the bounty of each season, an important doctrine of Ayurveda. Because digestion is central to health, we also wanted to demonstrate how to use appropriate seasonings in order to improve digestion and bring the body into balance.

Our classes are designed to help you understand how the wisdom of this ancient Eastern healing system can be incorporated into a modern lifestyle

cooking classes in your home

Every class is unique while focusing on the Ayurvedic fundamentals of taste, temperature and texture. You will learn to create dishes and discover how they can support health, and how the six tastes of Ayurveda create a diversity of flavors. Each SEASONing lesson focuses on foods, herbs and spices which play a vital role in determining our optimal health — body, mind and spirit.

Along with the health benefits, the classes are peppered with kitchen tips, recipes and techniques to make your time preparing meals fun and educational as well as delicious!

more buzz

"Thank you for the fabulous cooking class last week. I really appreciate your teaching and the careful attention to detail in explaining the process. I also felt empowered to trust my intuition after learning the basics. The class was just what I needed to enhance and refresh the meals I cook for our extended family. With deep gratitude."

about our menus

SEASONing's  menus are mainly vegetarian (cleanses in particular), bordering on vegan ... always including options for those who eat meat and fish. Each participant's dietary restrictions are considered and classes are customized accordingly. View some of our past menus here.

Kara Adanalian

"America's Best
Home Cook"
After a diagnosis of breast cancer in 2014, Kara was fortunate to find support in the form of integrative oncology care at Cancer Support Sonoma, right here in her home town of Sonoma. It only took one lymphatic massage and Ayurvedic consultation with Teri for the two to realize how much they had in common.

When Teri began to discuss Ayurvedic dietary principles for people diagnosed with cancer the conversation moved to how much they loved to cook and share meals with family and friends. Then Kara offered to host a seasonal cleanse cooking class in her stadium-style Sonoma kitchen, and it was like they had been doing this forever. The class was seamless, educational and fun. SEASONing Sonoma was born.
